Clear quartz (colorless quartz) is the most common and widespread member of the natural quartz family, composed mainly of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), with pure natural clear quartz reaching 99.999% purity.
Main deposits: Brazil, Madagascar, the United States, Switzerland and China.
Its natural crystal form is a hexagonal prism; it is called the 'king of crystals' and is one of the Seven Treasures of Buddhism.
With a Mohs hardness of 7, it is hard and suited to polishing into pyramids, carvings and beads.
